En la ciudad natal de Messi, crece la esperanza antes de la final de la Copa del Mundo

En Rosario, la ciudad argentina donde creció Lionel Messi, crece la esperanza y el entusiasmo de que la estrella de su ciudad natal pueda guiar al país a una primera Copa Mundial de fútbol desde 1986, repitiendo un truco de Diego Maradona hace 36 años.

Unos 300 kilómetros (186 millas) al norte de Buenos Aires, en la orilla occidental del poderoso río Paraná, la ciudad agrícola es donde Messi creció y pateó por primera vez una pelota. Su imagen está por todas partes, adornando los costados de los edificios.

El partido del domingo será la segunda final de la Copa del Mundo para Messi, de 35 años, quien buscará revancha después de perder 1-0 ante Alemania en la final de 2014 en Brasil.

“The truth is that he deserves the best in life, because he is a beautiful little person, he is a born leader and he is going to make us all happy. We are already champions.”
