Children’s Day also known as Dia del Nino is celebrated annually in Mexico since 1925 as a tribute to children in the country.  Special events are hosted

across the country inviting parents to celebrate, share and appreciate the efforts of children. To acknowledge the contribution and efforts of children in Mexico, an event was held in the parking lot at Lindo Mexico restaurant organized by the restaurant owner, Gricelda Mata, Acceso VIP Yeli Romero and Jesus Gomez.

This special event started with DJ music at 5 pm and was later followed by contests that saw participation from children from various walks of life. Children participated in different activities to win prizes and with each adult entree purchased, one child received a free kid’s meal. Kids were thrilled and excited to say hello to their favorite cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Batman, and Wonderwoman.

The event also had the presence of police cars and fire trucks and children got the opportunity to interact with the authorities, to sit inside the vehicles and take pictures with police personnel and firefighters. The event concluded with a clown name ‘Payasolin’ making balloon figures and giving it to the kids. The event was sponsored by Celebration Cinema, First United Credit Union, Sysco, Peoples Connection, Elton Monroy, Guela Guetza Designs, CostcoWhole Sales, Farandula Magazine, and Payasolin.
