If you are passionate about lounge and music that derives inspiration from wide array of genres then Sound of Ceres has the right kind of music that they have to offer. The band certainly has wide range of music that can keep you glued for hours. The band members Karen Hover, Ryan Hover and Derrick Bozich team up with Robert Schneider, Jacob Graham, John Ferguson and Ben Phelan to bring music lovers great music that draws inspiration from the nature documentaries and other modern sampling techniques.
The band has recently released their album Nostalgia for Infinity which is a conceptual retelling of the 60s Brazilian hit ‘The Girl from Ipanema’ in its own way.
This new Colorado-based band was formed in 2014 in collaboration with members of the Apples in Stereo and The Drums. The band focuses and contemplates the human place within the time and space. If you love hearing to them live they will be next performing at the Pyramid Scheme Bar where they will share the stage with SurferBlood. The event will be held on May 19, 2016 at 8 p.m. The ticket price for the event is $15 and audience of any group age can attend the event.

FarándulaMag: Who are the band members? SOC: Karen Hover, Ryan Hover, Derrick Bozich
FarándulaMag: Who came up with the name of the band, and how did you guys get your start? SOC: Ryan came up with it, as a reference to the Roman goddess of secrets, and the dwarf planet. We started a couple years ago, recording music in our home studio.
FarándulaMag: Where do you draw your influences from? SOC: Science fiction books, composer Frank Comstock, and Boards of Canada.
FarándulaMag: Who writes the lyrics in the band? What do the lyrics usually deal with? SOC: Ryan is currently reading. This time around it was a mix of the sci-fi of Alastair Reynolds and Marcel Proust’s “In Search of Lost Time.”
FarándulaMag: When you guys are not touring, what do you like to do for fun? SOC: We do a lot of hiking and snowshoeing outdoors, and a lot of reading indoors.
FarándulaMag: What is the funniest thing that has ever happen to you guys at a show? SOC: We played half our set over the sound of the fire alarms we triggered with our fog machines.
