After 10 years of performing with one of Latin music’s most award-winning bands, the Puerto Rican vocalist Ileana Cabra is launching her solo career under the artistic moniker iLe. Her forthcoming debut album is titled iLevitable.
Written by
iLe, “
Caníbal” is the first single, and it’s accompanied by a music video that combines animation and live action. Produced by
iLe and Ismael Cancel, the song features participation from Eduardo Cabra who also appears on keyboards. Also noteworthy is the bass playing of Guillermo Vadalá, one of Argentina’s best musicians.
iLe describes the recording of her debut album as a true manifestation of her emotions, ideas and creativity. “It had been going around in my mind for quite some time. Finally, I accepted the challenge and set out to make it happen. It’s been an arduous process, but at the same time, one of my most enjoyable experiences.”
The video was directed by Juan Manuel Costa and produced by El Birque Animaciones during January in Unquillo, Córdoba, Argentina. iLe conceptualized the video and was directly involved with the creative process every step of the way. Costa notes, “The video represented a major challenge not just for me as a director, but also for the entire project team. From the start, we were at ease working with iLe, as we fleshed out her concept in a spirit of professionalism and mutual respect. The result is gratifying. Our hard work has paid off with the joy of doing what we love…and I’m sure viewers will love it too. It was a privilege!”
“Caníbal” is available as of today from all digital-music download portals.
