Award Adds to Already Busy Year for Restaurant, Including New Location & Ventures
WYOMING – Wyoming-based Lindo Mexico Restaurant has been selected as the Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women’s
Business of the Year for 2015. The award was announced Tuesday at the annual Seeds of GROWth Luncheon at the JW Marriott downtown Grand Rapids.
This is the second such award this year for the local family-owned business, the first being 2015 Business of the Year honors from the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in the spring.
“I am excited and humbled beyond belief,” said Lindo Mexico owner Gricelda Mata. “This community has been so good to us and it is because of its support that we continue to grow, and strive to do our best in providing authentic quality food and the best customer service around.”
According to GROW, the selection criteria for the award is stringent and includes the following key components:
Financial stability and improvement
Excellence in customer service
Economic growth and growth potential
Community involvement
In their congratulatory announcement letter to Lindo Mexico, GROW summed up their selection by stating, “Clearly your business and your story align with these attributes with your continued growth, dedication to the customer experience and commitment to our community.”
This recognition adds to an already busy year for Mata and her team at Lindo Mexico, and one that includes construction of a larger building for their upcoming relocation in October and a future announcement that, says Mata, “will make a lot of people in our community, including our existing customers, very happy.”
The new restaurant will be located at 1742 28th St., SW, Wyoming, just west of the current location. It includes more seating, a bar, a patio a fireplace and a “fun ambience, which will be highlighted by a very local touch…we know our customers will really enjoy it,” adds Mata.
The new Lindo Mexico restaurant is scheduled to open in mid-November.
