From Grand Rapids, Michigan

FarándulaMag: How did you get your start?
Swagman: By meeting people who are in the fashion design industry; they got me interested.

FarándulaMag: What has been the hardest part of getting started?
Swagman:One of the most difficult things has been having the expectation that I was going to sell my clothing fast, and everything was going to be easy. But in this industry like many others takes time to get your brand out there.

FarándulaMag: Where do you get your inspiration?
Swagman:I’m always keeping an eye on whats happening out there and I like to be a couple steps ahead.
I also like to go out to the streets and see what people like to wear, and I get an idea on whats going to be the next fashion trend.

FarándulaMag: What celebrity fashion designer do you admire?
Swagman: I admire Valentino, I like his style and garments, they are very elegant. Another great designer I admire is John Varvatos, I really like his Rock and Roll and bad boy style.

FarándulaMag: What advice would you give to people who want to be fashion designers?
Swagman: Go outside and experience. Find an Internship in this industry, learn from the experts.
