Más Mejor Announces Programming with Talent Including Fred Armisen, Horatio Sanz, Grace Para and Oscar Nuñez

Broadway Video Enterprises today launches Más Mejor, its new premium comedy studio powered by Latino voices. Más Mejor will cultivate Latino comedic talent and create and distribute premium comedy content for diverse, progressive, and digitally savvy audiences.

Más Mejor will create short form comedy content in both English and Spanish to engage with Latino millennials and beyond. Más Mejor’s videos will be released weekly and distributed across its YouTube and social channels as well Comscore’s top Hispanic ad-focused sites to reach the widest possible audiences where they consume media. Upon launch, Más Mejor’s content will instantly reach over 100 million unique monthly viewers thanks to powerful distribution partnerships with NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, POPSUGAR Latina and Batanga Media.

Más Mejor’s aim is to resource, cultivate and amplify Latino talent ultimately benefiting not only creators but programmers and entertainment consumers alike. Más Mejor’s initial talent lineup of Latino digital influencers, stand-up and sketch comedians, and producers includes: Fred Armisen, Horatio Sanz, Oscar Nuñez, Billy and Fernando Rovzar, Adriana Bello, Grace Parra, David Lopez, Dustin Ybarra, Carlos Alazraqui, Melissa Villaseñor, Veronica Osorio, Fabrizio Copano, Jasbir Singh Vazquez, Frankie Quinones, Alexis Pereira, Frank Garcia-Hejl, Eddie Mujica, Julio Torres, Sofia Gonzalez, Isabella Gerasole and Room 28.

To expand on the existing Más Mejor talent roster, Broadway Video and Telemundo will run a talent search, the winner of which will appear in a Más Mejor short airing on Telemundo properties. “We are thrilled to be part of this collaborative effort in the underserved Latino comedy market,” said Peter Blacker, EVP of Digital Media & Emerging Business, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. “Más Mejor will be the perfect vehicle to both showcase Latino talent and cultivate the next big star.”

“I never thought I’d have an opportunity like this,” says digital influencer and Vine star David Lopez. “I am super excited to be part of Más Mejor.”

“By combining the production resources of Broadway Video and Batanga Media’s ability to reach mass Hispanic audiences through social and mobile content in the U.S. and Latin America, we are delivering the highest quality comedy content to a still underserved audience,” said Rafael Urbina, Chairman and CEO of Batanga Media. “We are thrilled to introduce audiences and marketers alike to “Más Mejor”, and allow them the opportunity to explore comedy.”

Más Mejor serves as a powerful tool for brands to create premium content that speaks authentically to this consumer demo. In addition to branded and topical content, Más Mejor’s initial programming lineup includes:

TOY COLLECTORS, Fred Armisen and Horatio Sanz reprise their roles as Cuban toy collectors (originally created for Saturday Night Live), who provide Spanish-language commentary on the American toys they are unboxing.

SI, PIPI, SI, Oscar Nuñez (The Office, Benched) plays a famous South American performer who comes to America to strike it big.

SOCCER DADS, David Lopez plays an aspiring soccer coach with an overconfident personality who thinks he can whip a young team into shape.

TINY LADY, BIG OPINIONS, Grace Parra (The Nightly Show) tackles big issues.

FREESTYLE WRAPS, Eddie and Neal (Eddie Mujica and Neal Dandade) run a sandwich shop that serves wraps and customized rap songs to customers.

BREAK UP BREAKDOWN, Sofia Gonzales reenacts bad break up stories with a spin.

“Launching today with these amazing talent, distribution, and brand partners proves just how dynamic this market is right now. It’s gratifying to see the past several years of relationship-building in Latin America and the US Hispanic market come to fruition with Más Mejor,” says Britta von Schoeler, President, Broadway Video Enterprises.
