The Coaches will Discover the Nation’s Top Young Vocalists in this New Season that will Unveil an Innovative and More Thrilling Format
International music stars Daddy Yankee, Natalia Jimenez and Pedro Fernandez return as Coaches on the fourth season of the highly anticipated singing competition “La Voz Kids,” slated to premiere this spring on TELEMUNDO. Featuring the nation’s best young singing talent, the reality competition will unveil new innovative changes to its format this year. The fourth season, produced once again at the Universal Orlando Resort, will give viewers the opportunity to witness how the stars of the future are discovered and developed.
After a sellout tour behind his last album “King Daddy”, Coach Daddy Yankee returns for a second consecutive season. He is a multiple Billboard and Grammy award winner, who has been named as one of the most influential people in the world by both CNN and Time Magazine and is known as the artist who spearheaded the popularity of Latin Urban music worldwide. Yankee’s artistic venture includes his movie “Talento de Barrio” (2008), in which the soundtrack sold over 1 million copies around the world, landing the number one spot on the “Billboards Top Latin Album” chart and his single “Pose” took the top spot on “Billboards Hot Latin Songs” chart. As the founder and CEO of his own label, El Cartel Records, Yankee single-handedly thrust Latin urban music into the world arena, long before any major label dared take a risk on a musical genre whose appeal was untested.
Season three winning Coach Natalia Jimenez, returns for a third consecutive year looking for a repeat of last year’s success. With a powerful voice and musical versatility, Natalia is one of the most important female figures in Spanish-language music. Born in Madrid, Spain, the internationally renowned Grammy, Latin Grammy and Latin Billboard winning artist has sold over two million albums worldwide, and has recorded duets with Latin music’s biggest stars, including Marc Anthony and Ricky Martin. Her second solo album, “Creo en Mi” (2015), debuted at #1 in Puerto Rico and # 2 in Billboard’s Latin Albums chart.
Returning Coach Pedro Fernandez is back and ready to win. In a career spanning more than four decades, he has won over fans with dozens of chart hits throughout his native Mexico and Latin America. Pedro made his film debut in 1970 in the starring role in “La Niña de la Mochila Azul.” His instant success won him additional recording and film contracts and consolidated his image as a child prodigy. To date, Pedro has recorded 39 albums, appeared in countless telenovelas and 25 movies and won countless of awards including the coveted Latin Grammy. In 2015, he released his album “Acaríciame el Corazón” that includes his hit “Hasta el Fin del Mundo.”
TELEMUNDO’s “La Voz Kids,” a production of Talpa Media USA Inc. created by John de Mol, offers an innovative format featuring three stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, and Final Phase. During the Blind Auditions, the Coaches decisions are based solely on voice and not on looks. Once the teams are set, the Battle Rounds begin, where the Coaches will dedicate themselves to developing their teams. New this season, the Battle Rounds will include the opportunity to save fan favorites with the new “Wild Card” component. In the Final Phase, the television audience has the opportunity to vote, and with the help of the Coaches decides who stays in the competition, who goes home, and who will be the winner of “La Voz Kids,” and receive the grand prize.
