Cecilia Villar Eljuri, also known as ‘Eljuri‘, will tour in the North East U.S. in support of the release of her fourth solo album, ‘Resiste: La Coleccion Reggae de Eljuri.’The Ecuadorian songwriter, singer, guitarist, composer, producer, activist and leader among socially driven musicians makes this announcement as stellar reviews for her artistry and musicianship come in. Starting this August, Eljuri the Latin reggae roots rocker will present her ‘Resiste‘ collection live. The kick-off concert is in Eljuri‘s hometown, New York City at Joe’s Pub and will include fresh video tour graphics and a guest horn section. The Eljuri power trio will then continue to the heart of Philadelphia’s Main Line with a performance at 118 North. The next stop is Bethlehem, PA as part of the official 2019 Musikfest line-up. Sure to be a fan favorite, Musikfest was voted the #1 Best Music Festival in North America by USAToday. Rounding out her NorthEast U.S. Tour, Eljuri is honored to be among an amazing array of talented women who are a part of the Spirit of the Suffragettes Summer Concert Series at The Sanctuary for Independent Media in North Troy, NY. The free concert series responds to the inequity facing women artists especially women of color and offers a community resource fair to highlight the organizations and opportunities that can support women and families in North Central Troy and beyond. The second leg of the ‘Eljuri Resiste Reggae Tour’ will take place in Mexico in October of 2019 followed by a 2020 tour in Canada and the Midwest U.S. One of the top Latinx guitar players in the world, Eljuri fuses rock and pop-punk, with bolero, reggae, and Afro-Cuban sounds and rhythms in her music. Her award-winning songs inspire audiences across the Americas. Eljuri‘s passion extends to educating young people in the guitar, professional musicianship and how to find and use your voice. The family emigrated to the U.S. and settled in New York City.
