Tacos and cerveza are a perfect match. Some might even say a match made in heaven. The taste of Brewery Vivant’s newest beer called Hop Field, when paired with tacos is sure heavenly.
Tacos and cerveza are a perfect match. Some might even say a match made in heaven. The taste of Brewery Vivant’s newest beer called Hop Field, when paired with tacos is sure heavenly. Brewery Vivant, a brewery in Grand Rapids, MI, has just released a new beer (in the first week of October) named Hop Field, which is a farmhouse style beer and has a full hopped flavor. Hop Field is an IPA, but is different than many IPA’s on the market and from others that Vivant offers.
How it differs is that while it is hopped, it is not overly hoppy. The flavor is fruity and somewhat sweet while still providing the traditional IPA style. The taste does not linger on in your mouth like other beers of this style, rather it goes away quite fast, leaving you to want to drink more. And you will drink more. Guaranteed. The whole can. We’re not kidding. It’s that good.
Hop Field is made using a wide range of Michigan grown hops, which is something that Brewery Vivant is proud to announce. These hops come from different parts of the state, helping different hop farms along the way. At an alcohol percentage of 7%, this beer is one that can be drank easily without being overbearing.
Lindo Mexico, a restaurant in Wyoming, MI, is a great place for more than great food. Offering a wide menu of Mexican favorites, the tacos at Lindo really stand out. The tacos are prepared with a choice of meat, such as Pollo Sazonado (Seasoned Chicken), Carne Molida (Ground Beef), Carne Asada (Steak) , Al Pastor (marinated pork). The tacos come on either flour or corn tortillas and are topped with chopped cilantro and onions. Very traditional, but very tasty.
When the tacos from Lindo Mexico are paired with the Hop Field beer from Brewery Vivant, the flavors combined are seriously out of this world. It is almost as if they were designed to go together in a Romeo and Juliet romance style. However, instead of Romeo being killed, it’s the can of Hop Field and luckily there’s more, so you can just have another one. The corn tortillas match perfectly with the first sip of the beer. As you start chewing the meat, cilantro, onions, salsa, the IPA mixes in to create a taste that takes every single element from being apart and combines it into one. A perfect togetherness. The heat from one of the three salsas that Lindo serves worked well with the beer to blend it, not overpower everything else that you are eating. With each bite of the taco, you’ll definitely want a sip of the beer.have another one. The corn tortillas match perfectly with the first sip of the beer. Two local Michigan businesses coming together in flavor and service, again, it’s a wonderful combo. While not on the can as a paring, tacos definitely tops the list. Take a bite of your taco, take a drink of Hop Field. Delicioso. Repeat.
