Voz de Mando wins the Regional Mexican Song of the Year award for its smash hit “Levantando Polvadera” at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards

With its chart-topping smash hit “Levantando Polvadera” (Kicking Up Dust), Voz de Mando won Regional Mexican Song of the Year at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards, held last night in Los Angeles.

Featuring appearances by music’s best and most beloved artists, the iHeartRadio Music Awards celebrated its third annual edition. This marked the first time that the event has included Latin music categories.

This prestigious ceremony is produced by iHeartRadio, one of the world’s most listened-to terrestrial and streaming radio networks.

“Levantando Polvadera” is the title track of Voz de Mando’s latest album. The group was also honored with a nomination for Regional Mexican Artist of the Founded in 2009 by experienced musicians of Mexican heritage, Voz de Mando comprises: Jorge Gaxiola (lead vocals, accordion), Miguel Gaxiola (backing vocals, bajo sexto 12-string guitar), Eduardo Gonzalez (tuba), Adrián González (drums) and Carlos Sigala (keyboards and percussion).

Voz de Mando shared the moments leading up to their triumph with their fans on social media, while thanking them for making this accomplishment possible.

Filled with gratitude and pride, Voz de Mando is ready to build on the momentum of this award with more outstanding music.
